Nobody is perfect & Fayrah is nobody. I love nobody.

I used to "purposely" wake up Fayrah because she was confusing her day and night.

She used to sleep a whole lot during the day and wake up in the night.

It was so difficult to try and wake her up in the mornings.

I tried to make a lot of noise, turned up the volume of the TV or radio but nothing could wake her up in the day.

But now, she has been a pretty good sleeper in the night - waking up just for feeds and going straight back to sleep after that.

Alhamdullillah.

But the only problem is - now I am having trouble putting her down for her naps!

ARGH!

It took me a whole 45 minutes for Fayrah to go to sleep!

That is more than half of her nap time gone!

Sighs.

Oh well, I should be grateful that she is at least sleeping well at night, no?

Money (can) make the family go round.

From Discover My space...

Would you consider a family of three as BIG?

From Discover My space...

Well, I'm not sure about BIG but it's definitely happy.

Insya ALLAH.

If you had a choice, how many children would you like?

I would like to have four children!

Yup, four children!

I know, I know.

It scares me to even say it.

To have four children in Singapore is probably like playing with fire - at least for a middle-class family.

As a parent (I can't believe it! Am I really a parent?!? Madness!), I strongly believe that education, love and attention are the most important factors that will a huge impact on any child's life.

Having that many children will mean that we will be going beyond our means.

Quite frankly, I don't think we can afford it.

Nope, there's no shame about it.

Just admit it.

If you can't afford it, you can't afford it.

This is unlike the kampong days when you can do planting on your garden and just pluck the cili padi or daun keledek (not sure if it's edible. It just sounds very kampong - ish. Heh) from outside your house.

There are very rare (almost none) activities that can be done in our sunny island that are FREE OF CHARGE.

Everything needs money!

Even going to see a bunch of endangered animals costs money - a lot of it actually.

Well, those endangered species need to eat too, right?!

But then again, there are also BIG middle-class families that can live quite comfortably.

I guess it all depends on how the parents mould their little ones and their money management skills.

I have heard of parents who are both high-flyers and have only 2 children but still run into huge debts.

That makes you wonder, doesn't it?

How can a middle-class family with 4 children can live happily debtless but the same can't be said for an upper-class family with just 2 children?

Well, the children don't manage the family's financial situation, right?

Who should be blamed then?

The day it all changed

Alhamdullillah.

I do admit that this post was long overdue but I felt that it was far more important for me to concentrate on getting used to our latest addition to the family.

Though there are times when I feel like tearing my hair out, I am actually very thankful for our little bundle of joy.

From Discover My space...
All bundled up

I cannot believe I am saying this but despite the pregnancy back ache (for 9 whole freaking months) and the labour pains that I had to endure, it was all well worth it.

Alhamdullillah.

Will I go through it the 2nd time?

Hmmmm...Right now, my answer would be...No!

But 2 years down the road, I might change my mind.

At the moment, I just want to enjoy being a mother to Ghufayrah and a wife to MyBudakTapai.

For all that I have.

Yup, I do feel complete. ALLAH s.w.t has blessed me with...

Alhamdullillah.

At times when I feel like screaming at the top of my lungs or crying my eyeballs, I go back to what I have.

I have been encountering setbacks and challenges in trying to achieve my dream.

It's no use pointing finger at anyone for these hurdles or getting jealous at others who are successful.

I find that it keeps me sane and grounded by being thankful for what I already have.

Before the delivery suite, there was..

Knowing that you have 12 hours before you had to "check in" into the delivery suite, MyBudakTapai and I decided to make full use of the time.

It was going to be a really long time before we can go out "on a date" again So what did we do?

At T-10 hours, we took the train down to...
