Raya Committee 2009

Working in an international school can be an eye-opener - especially if the school recognises the different festivals celebrated by various religions.

Every year, the Hari Raya committee in my school will put up a performance in order to educate the children as well as the teachers on the holy month of Ramadan and Idulfitri celebrations.

Below is a group shot of those involved.

Those who made it happen.

As there are no male teachers in my department, the ladies had to dress up as one (or two. All in the name of education.)

Eid Mubarak

At 7.03pm, we bid goodbye to the holy month of Ramadan and said "Salam" to Syawal.

Alhamdullillah.

I am very grateful that I get to enjoy another month of Ramadan with my loved ones and to do it in the best of health.

Ahamdullillah.

Patrick Swayze

I was not even aware that he had cancer.

The Beast was one of my favourites.

The next thing I knew is he has died.

What a shocker!

Anyhow, another legend has passed on.

ZeeGroupie

We should always keep trying, no matter what.

Eventhough the chance of winning may be slim, you will have no regrets - that is, if you try.

So I tried my luck and I made the right choice indeed!

I won a pair of tickets to Zee Avi's showcase!

Gerek kan?!?!

I was super-duper excited because it has been ages since I went to a musical function (?).

Anyhow, the showcase was held here..

From Discover My space...
We had no idea it was outdoors.

..which was located here..

From Discover My space...
Just in case, you guys too don't know the exact location of timbre..like us.

There were thousands (Exaggeration, of course) of people ahead of us.

From Discover My space...
Luckily, it was breezy.

All that just so we can see..

From Discover My space...
Zee Avi - in the flesh!

But it was well worth it.

Though we had to stand the whole time but I enjoyed it - especially when she sang my favourite track.

Kantoi!

Rezki Ramadan

A pair of Crocs was too expensive so was a pair of Birkenstocks. (Sayang duit aku spend more than $60 untuk alas kaki aku.)

I was wondering how to spend a portion of my increment (Alhamdullilah).

Then I saw HMV and dragged SiBudakTapai (Yes, I literally pulled him into the CD shop).

They were playing this beautiful soulful music that attracted me immediately.

They played this song.

So what did I do with my increment?

Beli CD Zee Avi, babe!

I don't regret it.

Such great talent.

He said what?!?

Compared to the previous days, today had to be the day when my students were at the best of their behaviour.

Maybe I was just excited after receiving a birthday gift from a girl. (Sweetness. Children are like sponges, I tell you. Be careful what you say in front of them.)

Besides that, my partner and I received some positive comments as well so that made the day even better.

As I sat down during lunchtime, I recalled a comment a friend's husband made about preschool teachers (like moiself.)

Apparently, we are useless and he did not see the point of sending his child to a kindergarten and hence, early childhood educators are considered redundant.

To think that he was 5 years older than me but possess such a shallow mind makes me just want to hit him right there and then.

If he was my first date, he can simply forget about a second meeting.

If he was my boyfriend, I would say, "Boleh jalan sua, sayang."

If he was the last man on Earth, I would rather be single.

Every job plays a great role in the development of a nation - even a road-sweeper.

Imagine how filthy the roads would be if not for the men and women who sweeps not just the small premise (like their house) but the entire void deck and many other areas.

Such a shallow perspective from a 30 year old.

And to think Mak wanted me to find someone who is at least 5 years older than me because a man who is that much older would be more mature and stable.

Yeah right!

Age is just a number and in no way determines one's maturity, financial independence etc.

I am very thankful with SiBudakTapai.

Syukur alhamdullillah.
